Sold Out – Helms Bakery District Case Study and Site Tour
Join us for an evening reception at the Helms Bakery District to learn how the historic bakery building, and a Culver City landmark, was transformed through adaptive reuse into a center for home furnishings, creative offices, and the arts. With twelve retailers and three restaurants (including Father’s Office) the District is an example of successfully restoring old buildings and inspiring businesses to make the bakery home. The closure of Helms Avenue enabled the creation of Helms Walk, a plaza for pedestrians that is a pet and bike friendly environment with free wireless internet. A great benefit to Los Angeles and Culver City, please join us to learn more about the design and development of this great historic district.
In preparation for the tour, please dress warmly and wear comfortable walking shoes.
