No More Sitting in Traffic Ever!  (Not Really.)

JHSoin ULI Los Angeles to meet Seleta Reynolds, the new Transportation Manager of the City of Los Angeles Department of Transportation.

Whether by professional measurements or personal purgatories, we all know that the City of Los Angeles has some of the most congested traffic and potholed roads in the nation.  Mayor Eric Garcetti has hired Seleta Reynolds to solve all that – or, perhaps, to begin to chip away at all that.  Come meet the individual who has agreed to take on this thankless and unending task.

LADOT has 2,000 employees and an annual budget of about half a billion dollars.  Much of what LADOT does you know: traffic signals, parking meters.  Some of what they regulate, you may not know: ambulances and taxicabs.  Regardless, the scope of LADOT’s responsibility in the daily lives of Southland residents is enormous.

Seleta Reynolds comes to Los Angeles from the City of San Francisco, where she was responsible for that City’s complete streets program, known there as Livable Streets.  In that role, Ms. Reynolds has been deeply involved in multi-modal street design and public safety issues.  Ms. Reynolds also brings private sector experience to the table as well, having also worked at Fehr & Peers before her efforts in San Francisco.  .

Ms. Reynolds will also be speaking at ULI’s “Transit Oriented LA” program the prior week, on Wednesday, November 12.  Coming fast on the heels of that very large event, this Meet and Greet session will provide ULI members with an opportunity to follow-up on an up-close-and-personal basis with Ms. Reynolds.

Parking: Ampco Parking (second drive way on Hope St and the primary DLA Piper parking garage) charges a flat $8.00 rate for arrivals after 5 PM.  STANDARD parking (first drive way on Hope St) charges $2.50 per 12 minutes with a $12.00 maximum for arrivals after 6 PM.
