ULI Los Angeles is pleased to announce that April Sandifer has joined our staff as a Senior Associate. She will assist the Senior Director and Executive Director to continue to grow and promote ULI as a thought leader in the responsible use of land and in creating and sustaining thriving communities throughout the Los Angeles region.
April comes to ULI Los Angeles with a background in urban and environmental policy, community engagement, and a strong commitment to empowering underserved communities. Prior to joining ULI Los Angeles, April was the Operations Manager for the Loyola Marymount University Center for Urban Resilience (CURes), an organization that serves as a bridge-builder among stakeholders supporting positive urban ecology interventions in Los Angeles and beyond through courses, research, community science and public outreach. During her tenure with CURes she is most proud of her work developing community programs with the purpose of increasing community stewardship and their involvement in policy development. April also served as the Energy and Sustainability Intern for the Loyola Marymount University GreenLMU office where she helped to implement such programs as the Zipcar initiative and the L.I.O.N.S. community garden.
April is passionate about how the direct involvement of local stakeholders in the development and management process ensures the health and resilience of a community. She received her B.A. in Urban Studies and her M.S. in Environmental Science from Loyola Marymount University.
Please join us in welcoming April to ULI’s Los Angeles District Council!
