On Wednesday, December 18th, 2019, ULI Members and their guests had the opportunity to “meet” Dodger Stadium as our group was hosted for a private tour followed by a reception in the Stadium Club of the storied ballpark. Currently undergoing a $100-million off-season renovation project, the ULI program was provided with a detailed tour of the behind the scenes upgrades to the venue (including a chance to take in the home team’s locker room) with tour guides that included project leaders themselves like Janet Marie Smith, Senior Vice President, Planning and Development for the Dodgers and Mia Lehrer, Owner/Founder of Studio-MLA. Having sold out the program – no small victory itself given LA traffic and the mid-December holiday date – guests were split into two separate tours and then reconvened in the Stadium Club for ballpark related concessions and a detailed Q&A with the project leaders post-walking tour. ULI members and guests were able to ask questions of Janet Marie and Mia directly while around-the-clock construction occurred in the background given the unique timeline and constraints of the construction project. One that kept attendees interested and asking questions! Lastly, Janet Marie invited the group back next year to see the completed project and ask any follow up questions related to project execution.
