Luminaries Reception with Ron Silverman
Each year, ULI Los Angeles honors our top Los Angeles real estate icons with an intimate reception to gather insight and perspective regarding leadership, lessons learned, and what ULI means to them. This Luminary Reception will spotlight Ron Silverman. Ron enjoys being a member of a client's team and collaborating with the team to create strategies that lead to practical business solutions. In addition to his land use and entitlements background, Ron has in-depth experience with purchase and sale transactions, leasing, master planned communities and financing matters.
Ron works to develop creative approaches that lead to a client's obtaining its entitlements in a timely and cost-effective manner. This includes identifying CEQA exemptions; carefully reviewing conditions to maps and conditional use permits (to ensure clarity and consistency); and determining whether vesting tools are available that will preserve the client's right to build out its project. As part of this process, Ron has significant experience and enjoys working with elected officials and staff members at every level of government.
Since 1988, Ron has been actively involved (at both the national and local levels) with the Urban Land Institute (ULI). As a member of ULI, Ron has served as a ULI Trustee, Chair of the Audit Committee, Chair of the Public Private Partnership Council, a Counselor to the District Council Program and Chair of the Los Angeles (ULI-LA) District Council. From July 2011 to June 30, 2014, Ron served at the national level of ULI as Co-Chair of the Chairs of Mission Advancement. Ron currently serves at the national level on the YLG/NEXT Executive Committee. At the local level Ron serves as a member of the ULI-LA Advisory Board and Governance and Management Committees and as Co-Chair of Mission Advancement.
