The FutuRE of Logistics and Supply Chain will focus on the rapid introduction of warehouse automation, how logistics infrastructure is developing across the region, and the implications of the offshoring trend, as China-based manufacturers move increasingly to shift parts of their operations offshore.
This three-part series is presented in 50-minute, at 9am HKT (GMT+8) on second Wednesday of October, January, and April. Simultaneous interpretation in Mandarin and Korean will be provided during the webinar.
Included sessions:
Evolution or Revolution?
Wednesday, 14 October 2020 | 9AM HKT (GMT+8)
(Past webinar)
As in other sectors, COVID-19 has only accelerated the evolution of an industry already undergoing rapid change. In this panel, we look at what this means for the way warehousing infrastructure is being developed. How does the boom in internet retailing affect demand for new facilities? How will booming demand for last-mile logistics facilities be met? And will just-in-time delivery need rethinking given pandemic-related disruptions to the supply chain? Do we have enough modern facilities to meet the current demand? Is this a permanent situation? If so, what is the future of retail mall owners?
Discussion Leaders:
Tim Armstrong, Head of Occupier Services & Commercial Agency, Asia Pacific, Knight Frank
Dan Cerf, Principal, DevinQi Advisors
Dr. Michael de Jong-Douglas, Senior Managing Director, ESR

Tech in the Supply Chain
Wednesday, 13 January 2021 | 9AM HKT (GMT+8)
Ongoing labour shortages, coupled with the rapid growth of online retailing, mean that modern supply chains are increasingly adopting tech-based solutions, from blockchain tracking to robotics to on-demand delivery. In this panel, we discuss how tech is reshaping the industry and how tomorrow’s warehousing and transport functions will evolve.
Moderator:
Michael Ignatiadis, Head of Supply Chain & Logistics Solutions, Asia Pacific, JLL
Reshoring and China-plus-one
Wednesday, 14 April 2021 | 9AM HKT (GMT+8)
With trade wars raging and globalisation in retreat, China-based manufacturers are now reassessing their options, including the relocation of factories to other parts of the region. But is this a serious threat to the Mainland's stranglehold over global manufacturing? And what does it mean for other Asian markets that stand to benefit? We look at how Asian supply chains are being reconfigured by China-plus-one strategies.
Discussion Leaders:
Peter Garrison, Head of Strategic Customers, Logos Property
Joseph Lam, Capital Markets Analyst, Gaw Capital Partners
