    Derek Sanders

    Director of Development, Six Peak Capital

    Derek leads the development arm of Six Peak Capital, with day-to-day oversight of acquisition, due diligence, pre development, entitlements, design, and construction management. Since joining Six Peak he has assisted in sourcing a pipeline of 1050+ coliving beds in Los Angeles. In addition to project execution, Derek also guides the assemblage of the Six Peak development team. Prior to joining Six Peak, Derek worked for Greystar and CIM Group in Los Angeles. He has experience with various asset types and has managed projects of various scales - from single lot apartment buildings to mega projects with over 1.5 million square feet. Prior to moving to Los Angeles in 2014 he has worked as a real estate analyst and land use consultant in New York and North Carolina, respectively. He is passionate about creating quality urban projects that contribute to the built environment and provide value to investors. He holds a Masters in Real Estate Development from Columbia University and a B.A. with Honors in Urban Geography and City Planning from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

    Alla Sorochinsky

    Managinf Director & Chief Financial Officer, Cypress Equity Investments

    As Managing Director and Chief Financial Officer of CEI, Alla Sorochinsky oversees the execution of the CEI vision. Heading finance, asset management and development, she ensures that CEI functions at the highest level of efficiency, integrity and quality. Between 2001 – 2010 Alla managed the company’s 3,500 unit value-add portfolio, adding significant value through heavy renovation, effective financing strategies and top notch asset management. When the company shifted its focus to ground up Class A development, Alla became instrumental in creating an asset management platform for new development assets. Previously, Alla was the financial controller of several publicly traded technology companies. Alla graduated from the University of California, Los Angeles, with a degree in International Economics and received a Master’s degree from the University of Southern California.

    Ed Zimbler

    Managing Director, Berkadia

    Ed has been with Berkadia and its predecessor companies for over 20 years, during which time he has closed in excess of $8 billion in debt transactions.  These financings include all major property types throughout the United States for a variety of sponsors.  In addition to his role as an originator, he also serves as senior managing director and leader of the Los Angeles, Orange County, and San Francisco offices.  Ed has been in commercial real estate finance since 1984 and worked at the tax department of Kenneth Leventhal & Co. in the early 1980’s (CPA-1981).  Mr. Zimbler received his M.B.A. from Stanford University Graduate School of Business, 1984; and Bachelor of Science in Economics from The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania, 1981.

    Ryan Granito

    Fundrise

    Ryan is Vice President of Real Estate for Fundrise and is based in Los Angeles, and is primarily focused on acquiring and originating investments for multiple product types, including multifamily, build to rent SFR, office/retail, and industrial. Ryan has broad industry experience ranging from acquisitions and dispositions to development and construction management, having worked in both private and public sectors throughout his career. Ryan has a Bachelor of Arts in Diplomatic History from University of Pennsylvania and a Master of Business Administration from USC.

    Sheldon Powell

    VP of Development & Partnership , SoLa Impact

    Sheldon joined SoLa in October 2020 as Vice President of Development & Partnerships to lead the national expansion with the Black Impact Fund. With over 20 years of real estate experience in building and leading teams, his level of experience and expertise is vast. Sheldon’s background includes, yet not limited to; acquisition, design, site development, construction and stabilization of Multifamily Apartments, Mixed-Use, Master Planned Single Family and Light Industrial projects in multiple states. He exhibits core strengths in Executive-Level leadership, Construction Management, Contract Negotiations, Budgeting, Operations and Project Management.  He studied Business Management at Florida International University and received an MBA in Finance and Real Estate Development from Nova Southeastern University. He is also a Certified General Contractor and Licensed Community Association Manager.
