Land-Use Solutions to L.A.’s Homeless Crisis
ULI Los Angeles’ in-depth, day-long examination from the front lines of finance, entitlements, bridge housing, shelters, design and more.
March 13, 2020
Dear ULI Los Angeles District Council:
We wanted to provide you with an update on our District Council’s response to COVID-19.
As always, the health and wellbeing of our members is of upmost importance to our organization. After much consideration, we have decided to postpone and/or reschedule all our programs and events and to move all committee/ council meetings to Zoom Meetings, as appropriate, through May 1. If you have already registered for an event, please be assured that your registration/fee will roll over to the new date. Having this decision and plan in place has helped us to continue to operate effectively as an organization.
We are moving forward with planning our programs and events after May 1 and at this point still anticipate holding 20th Anniversary of Urban Marketplace in 2020.
Given the advice we’ve heard from public health officials in the region, and the approach we’ve seen from other organizations and partners in recent days, we think this is the appropriate response. We will continue to monitor the situation and make you aware of any actions we are taking to proactively address this health crisis.
Please note that this policy is only in place for ULI Los Angeles Council events and does not affect ULI’s Spring Meeting in Toronto in May 2020 or other National events and programs. We will continue to evaluate the situation and communicate with you all regarding any adjustments. More general information on ULI’s global approach can be found at www.uli.org and specific news on the Spring Meeting can be found at spring.uli.org. Staff will be available to help with our Zoom platform and how to host a virtual Committee and Council meeting. Please contact Lisa Davis at [email protected] or Cyrice Griffith at [email protected] for assistance.
Please stay safe, healthy, and follow the latest advisories from the CDC.
Best regards,
Marty Borko
