Healthy Corridors Project

ULI Los Angeles is pleased to be among the four District Councils selected to participate in ULI’s national Healthy Corridors program, which is exploring best practices to reinvent under-performing suburban and urban arterials in health-promoting ways. More information about the program can be found here and in this video, which premiered at ULI’s 2015 Fall Meeting.

Working with the Mayor Garcetti’s Great Streets Studio, Council District 7 and local leaders in Pacoima, ULI members are developing plans for a demonstration project that will model potential long-term changes that could create a more vibrant, healthy and people-friendly Van Nuys Boulevard. Melani Smith, Principal at Meléndrez and Chair of ULI LA’s local leadership group for this project, moderated a panel on the program at Fall Meeting, which can be viewed here.
