ULI Community Plan Series: LAX Specific Plan
Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), our region’s gateway to the world, has long been acknowledged as one of the most significant and pressing planning, transportation and architectural challenges in Southern California. Since 2004, Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA) has been working to prepare the vision and plan that will define the traveling public’s future interface with, and experience of, LAX. That vision, an amendment to LAX’s current Specific Plan is now entering the decision-making cycle, envisions a potential direct connection to regional rail through an off-site intermodal transportation facility, a consolidated rental car and parking facility, as well as a people mover or dedicated busway to link the new facilities to LAX.
ULI Los Angeles established the Community Plan Series in 2012, a series of professional workshops to offer our members the opportunity to provide feedback on the region’s most significant community and regional planning efforts. The conversation is moderated by Katten’s Allan Abshez and Psomas Associates’ Joel Miller. At this workshop, LAWA Airport Executive Director, Gina Marie Lindsey, will present LAX’s plans to receive ULI members’ professional input and critique. This will be a unique opportunity to learn and to share your views, wisdom and insight with LAWA’s chief executive in an informal setting, as well as to become involved in the LAX Specific Plan effort on behalf of ULI as the Plan moves forward.
This is a complimentary event open to ULI members only. Seating is limited, so please reserve your spot early. Continental breakfast is included in registration.
Please note that complimentary on-site parking will be provided.
