Metro 417 Case Study and Site Tour
Join ULI – Los Angeles – Young Leader’s Group for a case study and site tour with the developers, architects and planners behind the redevelopment of downtown LA’s original 1925 subway terminal into 277 luxury apartments. The adaptive reuse strategy proved to be not only one of the most sustainable and environmentally-friendly approaches available today, but also a financial success. Reusing existing buildings is one of most underutilized practices to creating a truly sustainable environment – come discover how preserving history can save money and the planet.
The event will begin with a panel discussion from a group of experts on how to integrate historic buildings, preservation with environmental sustainability and financial feasibility. Following this discussion, there will be a tour of the unfinished subway terminal as well as a tour of the finished apartments.
The event will conclude at a neighborhood lounge for drinks and networking at a cash bar.
