Case Study & Site Tour: LA Bioscience Corridor & La Kretz Innovation Campus
Grab your lab coat and safety goggles! In the heart of the city, Los Angeles is creating a home for two high-growth industries of the future and we want ULI members to be part of the action. Please join us for an expert panel on the opportunities for growth, innovation, and investment in the LA Bioscience Corridor, as well as, a tour of the new La Kretz Innovation Campus – home of the LA Cleantech Incubator (LACI).
The LA Bioscience Corridor runs along Valley Boulevard between Cal State LA and USC Health Sciences Campus in East Los Angeles. The LA Bioscience Corridor is anchored by industry partners and research institutions on both ends. At the western edge of the Corridor sits LAC+USC Medical Center, USC Health Sciences Campus, and Response Genetics, a cancer research company. On the opposite end, the Corridor is anchored by Cal State LA and the US headquarters of the multinational pharmaceutical company, Grifols.
To help attendees understand both the unrivaled opportunities and the unique challenges associated with the developing life science facilities, ULI, in partnership with the LA Bioscience Hub, has assembled a diverse panel of experts to guide us through this new frontier. The City and County’s interest and investment in the region’s emerging bioscience sector is gaining momentum, and one of the prime areas for this growth is LA Bioscience Corridor, near the LAC+USC Medical Center. Our panelists include a range of experts in creative financing, engineering, and design who help make innovative life science projects a reality.
We’ll be gathering at, and touring, the La Kretz Innovation Campus, the cornerstone of LA’s CleanTech Corridor. The Campus is Los Angeles’ new clean-tech industry hub – a place where entrepreneurs, engineers, scientists and policymakers can collaborate, promote and support the development of clean technologies and LA’s green economy. The La Kretz Innovation Campus sits on one entire city block on the eastern edge of Downtown Los Angeles in the Arts District.
