The event opened with an exclusive private tour of the Americana led by executive members from the development team. Participants learned about the intricacies of the site, development challenges and successes, and lessons learned, while having the opportunity to have questions answered in a small group format. A tour and reception in the corporate suite followed in the ULI LA trademark Meet & Greet style with visionary, Rick Caruso, CEO and President of Caruso Affiliated who talked about the project in its entirety. The group was then lead to the patio area of Frida's Restaurant for appetizers and drinks.
Quotes from the Evening Participants
"The feedback from those who attended the completely sold out program was extremely positive. The small group format of the private project tours led by members of the executive team, access to the residential community spaces, and the meet and greet held in the private corporate suite created the tone of an exclusive and meaningful event. The meet and greet portion of the program with Rick Caruso provided a forum for insight on the project and the man behind its vision that cannot be found at a conference or in trade journals."
John Whitaker Partner at DLA Piper, Program co-Chair
"Caruso has truly redefined "Lifestyle" when it comes to Lifestyle Centers. The Americana at Brand is an Urban Resort within downtown Glendale. Not only is the project a fully integrated mixed-use 24/7 community for the residences within the project; it also provides a world class central park for the entire community. This is coupled with a level of concierge service for both residences and visitors that is truly five star."
John L. Waldron, AIA Architect, Senior Associate Withee Malcolm Architect, LLP
"What I truly appreciate about Caruso's projects, as shown again here at the Americana at Brand, is that he and his design team really care about the quality level of the little details that create a unique experience. As an Architect, Developer and former Walt Disney Imagineer, I admire what he has been able to accomplish given the difficult nature of real estate development these days."
Michael J. Donovan III Vice President of Development / Architect RTI Properties, Inc.
